US: Line Fire Breaks Out In Highland, San Bernardino County, California
Cause Of Fire Is Currently Under Investigation
A vegetation fire broke out in the city of Highland, San Bernardino County, California on Monday, threatening several structures and prompting evacuations.
The so-called Line Fire sparked at approximately 4:31 p.m. near the intersection of 4th Street and Palm Avenue.
Evacuations Ordered As Fire Grows
As of Monday evening, the Line Fire had consumed around 60 acres and was spreading to the north and east.
Authorities have ordered evacuations for the Mentone area, including the following streets and areas:
- 11th Street to 30th Street, between Base Line and Victoria Avenue
- 9th Street to 17th Street, between Victoria Avenue and Waterman Avenue
- The 1000 block of 8th Street
Residents in the affected areas are urged to leave immediately and follow evacuation routes.
Firefighters Battling From Ground And Air
The San Bernardino County Fire Department and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) are battling the blaze with ground crews and air support.
Air tankers and helicopters are making water drops on the fire to help contain its spread.

The cause of the Line Fire is currently under investigation by fire officials.
No injuries have been reported so far, and no structures have been damaged.
