Boilermakers improve to 12-1 in the last four games
DJ Horne leads NC State with 14 points at the half
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - No. 1 Purdue pulled away from NC State in the second half to win 81-69 on Tuesday night at Mackey Arena.
The Boilermakers (13-1) led by just six points at halftime, but they opened the second half on a 12-1 run to take a 17-point lead. NC State (9-4) never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
Purdue was led by Zach Edey, who had 23 points and 11 rebounds. Braden Smith added 19 points and seven assists, and Ethan Morton had 14 points.
NC State was led by DJ Horne, who had 24 points. Terquavion Smith added 18 points, and Jarkel Joiner had 12 points.
The Boilermakers shot 50.8% from the field, while NC State shot 41.4%. Purdue also outrebounded NC State 41-28.
With the win, Purdue extended its winning streak to four games. The Boilermakers will next host Ohio State on Saturday.
NC State will next host Virginia Tech on Saturday.
